OVERVIEW
Partial differential equations (PDEs) model processes that can be described by functions in time and space. Examples are the evolution of heat, the flow of a liquid or the dynamical behavior of an elastic body. The qualitative and quantitative understanding of these processes opens a wide variety of applications in many fields of applied science.
